About The Flyers Charity Classic

The Flyers Charity Classic is a city-wide event incorporating a 5k walk/run through the Philadelphia Navy Yard, a 10-mile family bike ride through the Navy Yard and FDR Park, and two bike rides – a 50K and a 100K – spanning the sights and sounds of Broad Street, through historic Valley Forge Park leading back through MLK Drive to the Wells Fargo Center Complex.

In addition to the Classic, families of participants and fans, alike will enjoy the Flyers Fan Fest, a fun, family-friendly outdoor celebration to enjoy throughout the day with games, inflatables, street hockey, entertainment, food and more! All proceeds benefit Flyers Charities and the Flyers Alumni Association and the various non-profit organizations they support throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.

Start Times

The Flyers Charity Classic will take place at the Wells Fargo Center Complex. All events will start outside XFINITY Live! Everyone should begin to line up 30 minutes prior to their event start time.

Routes

With a total 4008 ft. of elevation this route is the designed for the rider looking for a challenge.

Cyclists will start their ride at XFINITY Live! and travel north on Broad Street around City Hall, passing Logan Square and the Philadelphia Museum of Art as they continue down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Cyclists will then continue the ride on Martin Luther King Drive until they hit Fairmount Park and pedal towards Bala Cynwyd, Radnor and Chesterbrook to Valley Forge National Park the site of George Washington’s Revolutionary War encampment.

Crossing under the National Memorial Arch riders leave the Park and head back towards Philadelphia along the Schuylkill River via Main Street in Manayunk, Martin Luther King Drive through the streets of center city Philadelphia returning to XFINITY Live!.

A total 1515 ft. of elevation that includes a few rolling hills this scenic ride is perfect for the intermediate level cyclist.

Cyclists will start their ride at XFINITY Live! and travel north on Broad Street and around City Hall, passing Logan Square and the Philadelphia Museum of Art as they continue down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Cyclists will then continue the ride on Martin Luther King Drive until they hit Fairmount Park and pedal towards Bala Cynwyd before reaching the halfway point at West Mill Creek Park. On the way back to South Philadelphia, riders will travel alongside the Schuylkill River via Main Street in Manayunk, Martin Luther King Drive through the streets of center city Philadelphia returning to XFINITY Live!.

A flat ride that’s good for beginners and families.

Riders will begin by leaving XFINITY Live! and crossing Broad St heading into the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Riders will travel through the historic Navy Yard, the birthplace of the US Navy dating to 1776. Riders will then cycle through FDR Park commonly known as “the Lakes” before returning to finish at XFINITY Live!.

Walkers and Runners will start at XFINITY Live! and run through the scenic Navy Yard returning to XFINITY Live! to cross the finish line.
